Mom took the little boys and Marie into town today. Mom allowed Thomas and Daniel to buy a dollar's worth of candy. They ended up picking the same kind; Hot Tamales.
On the way home, while Thomas and Daniel were trying to convince Mom that John shouldn't have any because it was too hot, John spoke up in his own defence.
"Yes, me can have some."
"Yes, ha may have one." Mom said.
So, Thomas put a hot tamales in John's cute little hand, and John popped it in his mouth.
"Mmhh. Dis is goot," he said while sucking.
"Ok, John. Now, bite into it," Daniel suggested. And he did.
There was a moment of silence in the car, when John looked over at Daniel with wide eyes full of distress and screamed,
"Water! Water! Water!" And putting his hand to his mouth, yelling, "Ah!"
Thankfully, I don't think John got upset, only panicked. But he should get over it tolerably well.
The moral of the story is: if you want you kids to drink lots of water, let them eat Hot Tamales.
