History Repeats Itself

History repeats itself, probably in many families.

Years ago, even decades, Mike and Chris had a conversation in the car which went like this:
Mike, 4 years old, asked 2-yr. old Chris:
"Chris, can you say bird?"
"Birrd."
"Good, Chris.  Can you say truck?
"Tuck."
"Great!  Say butter."
"Budder."
"Wow.  Say Embassy Suites Hotel."
"Huh?"

Today, this happened to us but a little changed and of course with different characters. Until today, John has only used the "s" sound for the sound of "f" for any words requiring an "f" sound.  As we were driving in the car, John suddenly blurts out, "I can say 'Foot!'" followed with a big wide-opened mouth and shockingly big eyes!

So I said, "Wow, John!  That's great!!  Can you say fish?"
"Fish."
"Good, John!  How about food?"
"Food."
Then Daniel chimes in, "John, can you say fork?"
"Faurk."
Daniel continues, "Say fifteen."
"Fisteen."
Daniel asks another, "Can you say fast-forward?"
John replies, "I cannot say dat."

Well, it seems John now will be saying a lot of his old words in a new way.  Except refrigerator.  "Bussigerator."
