Fun In The Coolness

We went to a water park on the 15th and had a blast. It was Wednesday, so Michelle, Chris and Dad were at work. Ryan, a family friend, came with us. They had a lazy river, (which was lazy indeed,) two slides, and a kiddy area. There was also an area where there are floating plastic logs or alligators that you have to jump on, while holding on to the net above your head, (which inevitably gets in the way,) in order to get across the pool.

But anyway, poor Ryan. He got whistled at by a lifeguard about three different times, (and I only mean the lifeguard kind of whistle; the kind that get you into trouble.) They (the lifeguards) were pretty particular about what you can and cannot do around there.

One of the slides was open on the top and the other was just a tube. The half tube one can be rather embarrassing, believe me, I have vast experience in these matters. (And I mean embarrassing as in, you get to laugh at yourself about how ridiculous the situation is, nothing completely mortifying.) It was so dark in the full tube that you couldn't even see your hands if you put them up in front of your face until near the very end. Sometimes you didn't even need to watch to see when a person was at the bottom, you just had to listen to the screaming that stopped suddenly.

There was one little girl who wanted so badly to go down but was too afraid. The lifeguard and I were trying to coax her into it, but what finally convinced her was watching another girl who got stuck. She started laughing about it, and then sat down on the top kind of sheepishly. But once she went all the way down, you couldn't convince her not to go again.

All in all, it was a pretty good park, it wasn't huge, but it wasn't small either. It was about 3-5 acres, and was pretty clean feeling as well. After we all got whistled out of the pools, Mom took us to eat dinner at Little Caeser's. After a full day of swimming, you are so hungry that it probably doesn't matter too much where you ate, just as long as you ate something actually meant for human consumption.
