Dog Food With Too Many Miles

In an effort to be more efficient in our time and theirs, we and a family that are friends of ours made a pact to switch off going to pick up dog food. It was their turn. To save time, Dad and I swung by their house, picking up the dog food in the customer's car that we were taking on a long test drive. This may have actually saved time, if in fact, we performed the necessary task of removing if from the back of the car once we reached home. But we didn't. Haha.

Even when Dad drove the same car ALL the way back to Tulsa, the dog food remained unremembered. However,the test drive proved to be a success and the car was on it's way home WITH the dog food accompanying it. And home was 2 hours north of Tulsa. This would have been an even bigger catastrophe if it had gone all the way home, but it had to make a stop to the body shop. (It's a vain little car.) Thankfully, this body shop was only one hour north of Tulsa instead of 2.

To move to the other side of the story; Mom and I were at the veterinary clinic in Locust Grove (because Mia wasn't feeling as pepper as she normally was) while Mom was trying to organize a way to get both of our bags of dog food back. She called Aamco. Connie got her the customer's phone number. Mom called the lady who owned the car.

She said she thought it was rather odd that two bags of dog food got in her car and she was very polite about the whole situation. Mom had already planned on going up into Tulsa that day to meet another lady about some mattresses she had for sale. But by the time she got up to Tulsa, it would already be past work hours, so the body shop which was still another hour away from Mom's first appointment would already be closed. My Mom is awesome. She has a plan for everything and a great way to get information. She was able to get the phone number of the body shop that had possession of the car and ask them to leave the dog food outside the building in an inconspicuous place so she could pick it up even if no one was at the shop. And it was rather pressing, since we were just about out of dog food at home and Mom wouldn't have been able to go up to Tulsa, or farther for that matter, any other day of that week. So......

Finally, after all that time, (so much for saving time, haha) we got the dog food back with way more miles on it than we had originally planned!

P.S. This dog food is very special; you can only get it in Muskogee which happens to be 45 minutes south of our house.
