Pants or Shorts?

WOW!  It has been a super long time since Katie has blogged but she has a really, REALLY good excuse -- she's in Wyoming attending her first year at Wyoming Catholic College and spreading the Lawless reputation of having ETMF with grace and athletic prowess all over!!  She has some pretty fun and amazing stories to share, but I'll let her do the telling.  It may be a long wait, as of today she and 9 other students were on their way for their week long Fall Adventure in which Katie will be canyoning.

I'll tell you a little funny that happened tonight, though.

As celebration for Tim's birthday, the plan was to go to Mass, then purchase Little Caesar's Pizza and bring to the park, but the park part we decided to cancel as it had been raining.  So with the park idea out, we all dilly-dallied after Mass and played a little "ice cream frizbee"* in the empty church parking lot.  Since the boys didn't change out of their church clothes, they became a little sweaty.  As Thomas and Daniel always wear shorts under their dress pants, they simply took off their long pants in the car as we were leaving church and became immediately comfortable.   John, having changed himself into his play shorts, happened to forget to bring the proper shoe attire to wear with shorts.  It would look a little too silly for him to wear those shorts with black knee high dress socks and black dress shoes.  Since we were now going to dine at a nice restaurant, we wanted the boys to dress accordingly, so I broke the news to John, Daniel and Thomas that they needed to change back into their long pants. 

As the boys were just now comfortable and settling into a gentle coolness in their seats, they were a little reluctant to change back until they heard that the new plan was to go eat at Chili's!  Soon they were back in their church clothes and we were sitting at our table, looking over the menu and all the delicious options and Thomas says, "Boy, this place is sure worth putting on your pants!"  Thomas really enjoyed his meal, so much so that he, at one point said, "Ouch!  That hurt!" while rubbing his nose.  I asked, "Thomas, what happened?"   To which he replied, while still petting his nose, "I forgot I had a straw in my water cup."

*Ice cream frizbee* is the lid of a gallon ice cream tub we use as a frizbee.  It works surprisingly well.
